Wisconsin Badgers Play for the Cotton Bowl

The Wisconsin Badgers will sadly play for the Cotton Bowl this year. The Badgers will be playing number twelve ranked Western Michigan. Hopefully we could win against such a bad team. I mean have they ever even been ranked? I don't think they know how to roll with the big guys just yet. I have never even heard of their team. I shouldn't be talking though, being the fan of a team that has ended in such a horrible way. I still am having a hard time getting over that one. Hopefully we don't blow a super huge lead this time.

GO BADGERS!!!!

Wisconsin Vs. Penn State

It was a sad and terrible loss for Wisconsin on Saturday, December 3. The Badgers lost the game 38-31. They were really up for most of the game and then it just fell apart. I mean how could we give up such a big lead?! It makes me not want to even like the Badgers after getting somewhat cocky and then giving up the game. Not only a game, but the Big Ten Championship! The Badgers had a really good run, but I just can't be satisfied with such a horrible loss and a horrible end to the end of the season. At least the Badgers finished with self-respect and pride. They did not show any signs of poor sportsmanship, like all teams should. We played 13 great games and I'm not sad at all with how we did this season. GO BADGERS!

It was a good win for Wisconsin on Saturday, November 26. The game ended with a score of 17-31. The Badgers played against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Gophers are unranked, but they have maintained a nice winning record of 8-4. During the game the Badgers looked great on both sides. Although, the defense gave up a little bit more points than usual (17).  The offense put up nice points with 31. Next week, we will take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. They are ranked number 8 in the country. With a name like Nittany Lions though, I think we could beat them.

GO BADGERS!!!!!!!!

Wisconsin Badgers Vs. Illini Fighting Illini

The Badgers tumbled over the Fighting Illini today with a huge score of 48 to 3. Finally we get some offense going. Even though it was against one of the worst teams in the nation. They really played a great game on Saturday. They looked like themselves, not like there losing ways in some of the past games. The Badgers improved there record on Saturday with 8 wins and 2 losses. Those two losses game to the second and third teams in the nation. They only lost each of these games by a touchdown. For these reasons, I am greatly looking forward to the playoffs. I think we will really do amazing, but it's definitely not going to be easy.

Wisconsin Badgers Vs. Northwestern Wildcats

The Badgers won another defensive battle on Saturday, November 5. Wisconsin won the game 21-7 in an in-conference game in Evanston, Illinois. The Badger's offense didn't perform amazingly on Saturday, as they only put up 21 points. The game changer was, surprise surprise, the Badger's defense. They looked amazing and they are most of the reason the Badgers are so good. We played a pretty bad team on Saturday (Northwestern), but they really hung in there with us. The Wildcats had a horrible offense, only putting up 7 points. On the other hand they had a pretty good defense, only allowing 21 points to the Badgers. I think that if the Badgers hope to go all the way this year, then they will really have to improve their offense. Also, we need to be way more consistent with our quarterback situation instead of constantly switching between Alex Horninbrook and Bart Houston.

It was a great and important win for Wisconsin on Saturday, October 22. The Badgers won the very close game 17-9. The Badgers defense once again did an amazing job, only allowing 9 points. Wisconsin's offense did only ok as they only produced 17 points. The matchup was a good one, including two of the best big ten teams going against each other. Iowa has a record of 5-3. It is really crazy though that Wisconsin has really only played in very close games. If we want to be the best, we need to beat every unranked team by at least 25 points. Once again the Badgers defense saved us. Our offense really is struggling. We absolutely need to have great units on either side of the ball in order to be the best in the nation.

Wisconsin Badgers Vs. Ohio State

It was a tough loss for Wisconsin on Saturday, October 15th. The Badgers had the lead most of the game, but Ohio State ended up tying the game at the end. The game went into overtime and Ohio State pulled ahead with a 30-23 victory. Wisconsin did just an amazing job on both sides of the ball.  Second string quarterback Alex Horninbrook handled the football very well. On the opposite side of the ball, the Badger's defense looked amazing. One of the best in the country right now. I was very sad that the Badgers lost, but also very happy that they hung in there with Ohio State, ranked number 2 in the nation. It was rough losing at home in front of thousands of Badger fans, but I'm sure most people were greatly surprised that Wisconsin was able to hang in there with the "big guys."

The Wisconsin Badgers had a bye week this week. This means that Wisconsin did not play any games this week. So instead of analyzing a Wisconsin game, we will look at Wisconsin's huge upcoming game on Saturday. Wisconsin will be playing the number two ranked Ohio State on Saturday, October 15. As we all know, Wisconsin's defense has looked almost unstoppable. The defense has held almost every game to a very close and even matchup. The offense however has looked rather bad especially last game. Wisconsin's second string quarterback Alex Horninbrook failed countlessly to put the ball into a wide open receiver's hands. We need to generate more points of offense by both running and passing the ball. This is the only way we could beat the intimidating Ohio State. This would just be amazing if we could win. It would probably be the biggest upset this season and it would bring us up so much in the rankings. I think the Badgers have it in them to win, but I don't know if they believe that.

Badgers defense brings down a Wolverine with no mercy.

The Badgers suffered their first lost of the season on Saturday, October 1st. It was a great game with an ending of 14-7 Wolverines. The game was rough to watch because it wasn't very entertaining, due to the very low score. Both defenses played very well, but Michigan's defense might have just looked good because Wisconsin's offense was so bad. The Badger's second string quarterback Alex Horninbrook looked awful. I mean he had so many players wide open down field, but he failed to put the ball in the correct spot. He also threw an interception which could have been avoided. I think Michigan struggled to win so much because of their kicker. He missed three field goals in a row that could've given the Wolverines 9 points. They were all in relatively comfortable distance. The Badgers defense really kept them in the game though and that just might be how it will go the rest of the season.

Linebacker TJ Watt (left) brings down Michigan State quarterback Tyler O'Connor.

It was the second Badger comeback this season, this time against a number 7 ranked Michigan State team. The downfall of Michigan State was very surprising. I admit thinking that Wisconsin was going to get blown out at the beginning of the game. Little did I know the game was going to have a VERY different outcome. The score of the game was 30-6 and Wisconsin earned each and every one of their points. The Badgers had a great defensive performance, only allowing six points. What sloppy play from Michigan State, only scoring six points! I mean it looked like they were in high school in there with all of the sloppy plays and incomplete passes. It was just amazing play by both sides of the Badgers. I mean the offense scored 30 points and the defense held Michigan State to only six points. The rankings of teams these days just are never final until the end of the season. We have seen so many upsets that it's hard to tell which teams are even good anymore.

Badgers freshman quarterback Alex Hornibrook
The Badgers struggled to hold off the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday, September 17. This was probably the worst performance we've seen this year from the Badgers this season as they barely held off an unranked team with a score of 23-17. I watched the game and they looked very bad, not a good sign for the season. Wisconsin's starting quarterback Bart Houston had a horrible first half, forcing the Badgers to put in freshman Alex Hornibrook. Hornibrook really helped the Badgers pull away and get the win. It was really hard to watch the game because it was just an offensive mistake every time I looked at the TV screen. Hopefully, the Badgers will never perform as horribly as they did this game. If they do, we mine as well just throw our season in the garbage can.

Jazz Peavy (left) and Robert Wheelwright (right) celebrate after Peavy scored one, of Wisconsin's many, touchdowns.
The Wisconsin Badgers took on the Akron Zips on Saturday September 10. The Badgers mercilessly won the game 54-10 in four brutal quarters for the Zips. JJ Watts brother T.J. Watt recorded his first sack as a Badger. The Badgers have really been performing this season, especially last week when they beat #5 ranked LSU. These two wins have resulted in Wisconsin being ranked number 9 in the country.
It was actually very funny watching the Zips play. Going into Saturdays game the Badgers must have already been confident because they were playing an unranked team. Following this, their confidence level greatly increased when they learned that they were playing a team called the Zips. I mean honestly, what kind of a name is Zips compared to other college football names such as Tigers, Rebels, Wolverines, and Spartans. I wonder what it feels like to lose a college football game 54-10. I'm guessing it's a pretty bad feeling.

Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone (right) celebrates with teammate Robert Wheelwright
(left) after kicking a 47 yard field goal to give the Badgers the lead with 3:47 left in the fourth quarter.

Welcome to my blog, where I will express my love for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specifically their athletic program. I personally am a big fan of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is my favorite state which makes Wisconsin my favorite college. My uncle played football for Wisconsin and two of my cousins have attended Wisconsin.
Going into Saturday, September 3, I would bet all the money in the world that LSU would win this game with no trouble. Fortunately, for me, I did not bet any money on the game because I would have lost a lot of money. Wisconsin won the game with a 47 yard field goal kicked by Rafael Gaglianone, ending the game with a 16-14 score. I personally was not very impressed by either side of Saturday's game. The game was sloppily played on either side including a lot of turnovers that could have been prevented. On the other side, I'm very glad and even surprised that LSU got upset by the unranked Badgers.
